Trainee - Health and Safety Advisor, Business Area: Nordics

Are you looking to start a career as a Health and safety advisor? If you’ve got experience or strong engagement in what drives good safety performance and using risk assessment skills on health and safety, then you could contribute to the framework to solve the climate crisis with Statkraft. This is your chance to contribute to set health and safety preconditions and support on how we realise the potential of renewable energy and make a positive impact on our planet.

The Health, Safety and Security unit in business area Nordics consist today of an engaged and experienced team. We have both Hydro- and wind power in our asset portfolio today. Other technologies are under development, and we are looking for a trainee to help us to succeed with our ambition.

As a Health and safety advisor in the Health, Safety and Security department in BA Nordics, you’ll:

  • Contribution to further develop our HSS methods and tools
  • Driver for technical state-of-art practices and solutions
  • Contribution in implementation of new technologies and improvement initiatives
  • Support globally according to the O&M operating model on HSS

We look for experienced Health and safety Advisor with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. That includes knowledge in:

  • MSc within Safety-/Risk management or equivalent
  • Not more than 1 year of relevant work experience after graduation
  • Knowledge and engagement in acknowledged methods and IT tools/systems for HSSE
  • The ability to add value through continuous improvement and use of new technology

Trainee - Asset Performance Analyst, Business Area: Nordics

Are you looking to start your career as an Asset performance analyst? If you’ve got your interest within technical disciplines and data analysis, then you could help solve the climate crisis with Statkraft. This is your chance to optimize the performance of our assets, realise the potential of renewable energy and make a positive impact on our planet.

As asset performance engineer in Nordic’s O&M technology and department, you’ll take part in development and implementation tools and services related to digital condition monitoring at the plants. This implies:

  • Identifying and processing needs for services and tools supporting asset performance excellence
  • Supporting development and implementation of analytical tools such as
    • Anomaly detection tools
    • Visualisations and dashboards
    • Signal mapping and entry in analysis system
  • Ensuring value capture of the implemented tools

We look for a candidate with:

  • MSc within Engineering, Natural science or Mathematics
  • Not more than 1 year of relevant work experience after graduation
  • Strong interest in exploring and understanding of complex systems such as a power plant
  • An analytical mind-set and an interest in and understanding of quantitative models as tools for gaining insights and support decisions. Ablility to work independently with complex issues

Trainee - Commercial Development, Business Area: Nordics

Are you looking to start your career as a Commercial Development Trainee? If you are interested in the commercial aspects of the energy sector, have strong analytical skills, and preferably experience in financial evaluations, then you could help solve the climate crisis together with Statkraft. This is your chance to take an active part in evaluating, selecting, and driving new renewable energy projects, and make a positive impact on our planet.

The Commercial Development team, in the Development department in Nordics organization, is newly established and growing. We will ensure that Statkraft is able to assess and select the right projects across onshore wind, solar and hydro power in the Nordics. We also search for the right partners and acquisition opportunities to achieve our ambitions. We work closely together with all parts of Statkraft involved in development and investments decisions including the asset owners, regions in the Nordics and corporate.

As Trainee in the Commercial Development team, you will support on commercial aspects across onshore wind, solar and hydro in the Nordics. The tasks will vary over time but could typically be:

  • Portfolio management of the overall development portfolio across technologies and geographies
  • Investment analysis, financial modelling and valuation of projects and transactions, including ensuring up-to-date valuation models and input
  • Give guidance to project development teams on commercial strategies and market intelligence, including transaction overview, investor appetite and assumptions
  • Support strategic initiatives (e.g. business model assessment, new geographies and new business areas)
  • Work in a highly competent team and engage with experts across the company, including participating in the broader commercial network in Statkraft

We look for a graduate with the essential skill to be part of building a team and drive commercial value. We believe this includes:

  • Master’s degree in science, business, economics, or engineering

Trainee – Hydro Mechanical Engineer, Business Area: Nordics

The Hydro mechanical team consists of passionate mechanical experts, and we are looking for a trainee to join our efforts to be at the cutting edge of technology and state-of the art practises. You have a passion for mechanical equipment, an ambition to work with practical applications across a wide range of hydropower assets, and a desire to learn from and be part of a team of highly skilled professionals.

The ‘O&M Technology & Process’ department provides governance and services to Statkraft assets to safeguard critical functions, ensure a lifetime asset perspective, enable cost effectiveness and optimization of operations and maintenance as well as develop state-of the art technical solutions.
The Hydro mechanical department has a group-wide responsibility to define technical requirements, processes and guidelines for all mechanical components in the hydropower production system and support the implementation of these.

The department is a key enabler to Statkraft’s growth ambitions, following up design and manufacturing of new and refurbished hydropower equipment (such as turbines, governors, hydraulic steel structures and gates), performing condition analyses and assessments on operating assets, and closing the experience loop between projects and O&M.

You have a passion for mechanical equipment, an ambition to work with practical applications across a wide range of hydropower assets, and a desire to learn from and be part of a team of highly skilled professionals.

Your main areas of responsibility will include:

  • You will contribute to technical coordination and management of Statkraft’s hydropower plant portfolio globally
  • Work in close cooperation with the Hydro Mechanical specialists in Norway and in all our countries
  • Contribute with effective technical governance for all Statkraft hydro mechanical assets
  • Follow up new technology development and material selection related to mechanical design of turbines and waterway components
  • Participate in condition assessment and detection measurements (‘fingerprint analyses’) of turbines, generators, valves and gates
  • Prepare waterway analyses
  • Supporting refurbishment projects for our global hydropower assets

Your profile:

  • MSc in Mechanical / hydropower engineering, or similar
  • Not more than 1 year of relevant work experience after graduation
  • A keen interest in hydro power production systems, it’s associated components, and the Statkraft vision
  • Enjoy working in a team of technical specialists
  • Capability of applying latest technology to improve engineering solutions

Dam & Civil Engineer, Business Area: Nordics

This is your chance to help ensure Statkraft has safe dams and civil structures and realise the potential of renewable energy and make a positive impact on our planet.

Statkraft have recently implemented a strategy for its classified Dams and Waterways where Statkraft utilise a risk based approach in conjunction with state-of-the-art engineering ensuring that Statkraft’s dam and appurtenant works satisfy the highest standards. To ensure that Statkraft can achieve our Strategy we need additional resources. We are looking for a trainee who has an passion and ambition to work with all types of dams, appurtenant and Civil structures in Norway as well as globally.

From helping to run advanced renewable power plants, developing the technologies that power EV charging infrastructures, to supporting our business solutions and corporate functions. With Statkraft, you’ll be working and collaborating alongside other technology and digital experts to innovate, maintain and provide the world with renewable energy.

The Civil Dam team consist today of passionate dam and civil experts, and we are looking for a trainee to help us be at the cutting edge of technology and state-of the art practises.

As Dam & Civil Engineer in NTC you’ll:

  • You will contribute to strategic coordination and management of Statkraft’s dam portfolio
  • Work in close cooperation with the Dam safety officers (VTAs) in Norway and in all our countries
  • Involved in contributing to effective governance
  • Driver for new practises in the field of Dam, waterways and Civil engineering
  • Supporting projects globally

We look for graduate Dam & Civil Engineer with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. That includes knowledge in:

  • MSc in either Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Water resource planning or equivalent
  • Not more than 1 year of relevant work experience after graduation
  • A passion for Dam and Waterway safety
  • Capability of applying latest technology to improve engineering solutions
  • Experienced in use of digital tools as a way of working.

Experiences in these areas are also useful in your role:
