DBS Transformation Service Project Managers plan, mobilise and direct projects of medium to high complexity and scale from definition to closure. They are typically responsible for the end to end delivery of a single project or workstream of a larger project or programme, proactively balancing scope, schedule, budget, risks, outcomes and benefits. Projects can be standalone or form part of a programme. They are responsible for project outcome delivery deploying the Change Frameworks and Agile methodologies within their project. They work closely with business stakeholders , delivery partners , Global Programme Managers to ensure alignment of the wider change portfolio and the Group Strategy, Values and Behaviors. Project Managers may support portfolio management activities co-worked with the Global VSIP/PMO team in supporting in Market investment projects prioritizations. Provides the governance and MI reporting supports to HSBC senior management when requires to facilitate the decisions making or decision making processes.

The role is to deliver major strategic change programmes to serve our customers simpler, better , faster. The job holder has to take a design-led approach to manage programmes across HSBC Taiwan and to embed changes working with the business and deliver partners. He or she brings together design, strategy, technology and data to develop E2E solution for the bank.

  • Plans effectively around delivery constraints and optimises the plan to maximise benefits and minimise risk. Develops the plan within constraints, considering the delivery approach, key milestones and dependencies within the plan, requirements and scope, effort and resources, budgets and quality.
  • Plays active role in development and monitoring of a well-defined project/programme plan, identifying the key milestones and engaging with stakeholders to assign roles/tasks responsibilities; Works closely with stakeholders to develop programme/ project key documents
  • Ensures the baselined scope, requirements, benefits, schedule and budget are managed in line with plan meeting the delivery outcomes. Actively identifies and intervenes where there is slippage and variance from plan.
  • Proactively monitors project execution to effectively identify risks/issues/dependencies as they arise throughout the project lifecycle. Takes ownership of critical issues and ensures resolution within agreed timescales and implements mitigating plans against identified risks and issues. Escalates when needed and looks for possible solutions).
  • Collaborates and builds positive stakeholder relationships providing regular updates to resolve high priority issues affecting the project deliveries.
  • Analyses management reports , and derives insights from it to help GBs/GFs key stakeholders making the right decisions.
  • Sets the pace and operating rhythm, driving a culture of achievement. Promotes pace and energy with the team and leads
  • Maintains project change controls , ensuring any changes to baseline are managed via change management process with all impacts are considered
  • Chair Project Steering Committees and Project Working Group Meetings, provides timely reports on project status, risks and issues, evaluating project performance based on management information s on the regular basis.

Qualifications
Requirements/Qualification
  • Educated to degree standard, preferably with a further educational or professional qualification.
  • Demonstrable Diverse general business knowledge in banking industry including Banking Operations and System Development and Testing Lifecycle. IT Development disciplines such as Agile or Fintech/Generative AI innovation will be a plus
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills
  • Excellent understanding of the project lifecycle
  • Analytical and innovative and able to assess needs and propose solutions
  • Ability to develop detailed proposals and plans .
  • Proven project management or process re-engineering experiences
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to a wide range of individuals and groups and at different levels of seniority
  • Self-starter and effective collaborator
  • Ability to influence without direct management authority
  • Proven track record of problem-solving and the ability to distill and communicate complex concepts
  • Proficient English and Chinese in reading, speaking and writing.
