Safety Training Coordinator
Role & Responsibilities:
- Training and maintaining a highly skilled workforce to ensure an efficient operation, consistent with overall company objectives.
- Effectively develop and lead the quarry training initiatives at the Little Narrows Plant
- Recognize employees’ strengths and development needs.
- Provides coaching and motivates employees on an individual basis and as a team.
- Generate a training and development plan which will provide a flexible and efficient workforce to meet increased demand.
- Perform and maintain Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act training for new employees, as well as Annual Refresher Training. Perform site specific training for all visitors.
- Maintain all training materials including - Operator rate training program, training matrix, training check sheets, essential physical requirements (EPR), visual work instructions, and task & refresher trainings.
- Maintain all CGC training documentation and ensure compliance with all provincial regulations. Maintain CGC Mine and Quarry Training Program standards.
- Maintain applicable safety Model Programs.
- Preform safety walkarounds focusing on areas of opportunity across the plant.
- Present relevant safety topics in all employee meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of the Nova Scotia Health and Safety Act and the regulations.
- Ability to operate heavy duty quarry equipment is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Able to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Capable of delivering training one-on-one and in group settings.
- Strong computer skills.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
