Tamahere Berries Limited based in Waikato is looking for a Nursery Person.
This is permanent full-time position.
You will be responsible for:
· Propagation- Preparing seeds, bulbs, and containers before planting.
· Ensure seedlings, seeds and bulbs are healthy. Selecting seeds, soil mixing, bulbs and planting them in field or Nursery containers.
· Make sure all bulbs have done a correct treatment before propagation.
· Correct treatment includes awaken dormant, temperature, water, sunlight, fertilizers, Irrigation.
· Ensure all crops have suitable water and nutrient, watering plants manually and automatically by irrigation system when plants need water.
· Report: Keeping report and monitoring losses, yield and plants growth.
· Pest and disease control: Pest and disease control with appropriate use of herbicides and insecticides.
· Packaging and order dispatching of crops/plants/flowers to customer’s
· specification.
· Adhere to all company health and safety practice and procedures
· Schedule harvesting of flowers in a right time from inside and outside of
· the greenhouse.
· Packing of flowers into various packaging in a timely, accurate manner
· Maintain soil and water levels including the production records
· Maintenance: Ensure that all maintenance tasks set are complete in efficient and timely manner.
What you Need:
· No experience or qualification is required.
· Can work weekends, late evening or early morning shift
· Be a team player and flexible
· Good initiative and time management skills.
